MTV and Motorola build $75m alliance

International music network MTV and telecommunications giant Motorola have inked a three-year $75m deal to integrate marketing activities via a joint entertainment platform. While the deal applies worldwide, the platform will be tailored to locals markets.

Under new agreement announced at the CeBIT technology conference in Hannover in Germany, Motorola will make MTV programming available on phone handsets. MTV will also produce new shows for each region with local content.

In addition, there are plans to make joint programming acquisitions and extend both companies' websites and interactive marketing efforts. The deal also covers off-air marketing. MTV and Motorola will combine forces for live events and promotions.
