Miss Scarlet & The Duke finds int’l homes

Stuart Martin and Kate Phillips in Miss Scarlet & the Duke

CONTENT LONDON: PBS in the US, UKTV in the UK and Seven Network Australia are among the international networks to have picked up drama series Miss Scarlet & The Duke from A+E International.

The 19th century crime drama, coproduced by A+E International and Element 8 Entertainment, will form part of PBS’s Masterpiece drama strand.

Lightbox in New Zealand, RTL in Germany, Cosmote TV in Greece and CBC in Canada have also picked up the 6×60’ series in their respective territories.

The deals were announced at Content London, where the show is getting a gala premiere this evening, by Patrick Vien, group MD for international at A+E Networks International.

The show stars Kate Phillips (Peaky Blinders, The Crown) as Miss Scarlet opposite Stuart Martin (Medici, Jamestown), who plays Detective Inspector Wellington, aka ‘the Duke.’

The plot follows the first ever female detective in Victorian London. When her father dies, he leaves her penniless in a time where marriage is the only option for financial security.
