MGM stocks drama, formats for MipTV

TKO: Total Knockout is available as a format or finished tape

US-based MGM Worldwide Television Distribution is bringing a Ben Kingsley-starring noir drama and its series based on classic film Four Weddings & a Funeral to MipTV.

Perpetual Grace, which stars Kingsley alongside Jacki Weaver and Jimmi Simpson and follows a young grifter who attempts to prey upon a dangerous pastor, and the serialised version of Richard Curtis’s classic rom-com are part of the distributor’s slate of shows heading for the Cannes event next month.

Also included is CBS obstacle course competition series TKO: Total Knockout, available as a format or finished tape. The show sees contestants race through obstacles while the other participants fire projectiles at them to slow them down.

Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?, which began life in the US on Fox and has recently been revived by Nickelodeon, is also on MGM’s formats slate.

Feature film highlights include the forthcoming 25th title in the James Bond franchise. Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and starring Daniel Craig, the EON Productions, MGM and Universal Pictures film will be released worldwide on April 8, 2020.

Fighting With My Family, a comedy-drama written and directed by Stephen Merchant and based on the life of WWE wrestler Paige, is also included, as is The Hustle, a new comedy about two female scam artists.
