An All3Media spokeswoman confirmed to C21 that Sayer will leave the Embarrassing Bodies producer in the spring to “pursue new opportunities.”

“I’ve had an amazing 10 years at Maverick but the time has come to move on to pursue a fresh challenge,” said Sayer.

“It’s not easy leaving such a brilliant team so I’d like to thank my Maverick colleagues and wish them the best for the future.”

Under Sayer’s watch, Maverick has produced long-running Channel 4 format Embarrassing Bodies and USA Network reality show Chrisley Knows Best. He will continue to consult for the company and help establish its presence in the US.

His departure follows that of his former co-CEO Alexandra Fraser, who left in 2013. She went on to co-found 7Wonder, an indie backed by Australian broadcaster Seven Network.

All3Media MD Jane Turton said: “I would like to thank Jim for everything that he has achieved and for such a successful period at Maverick. I wish him all the best in the future.”

All3Media acquired Maverick Television for an undisclosed sum in 2007.
