Love Nature, CBC, WDR read Bee’s Diary

A Bee’s Diary will debut at the virtual edition of Mipcom

Blue Ant Media-owned natural history channel Love Nature, Canadian pubcaster the CBC and Germany’s WDR have teamed up on a wildlife film focused on honeybees from Taglicht Media.

German indie Taglicht has just wrapped production on A Bee’s Diary (1×50’ and 1×90’), which is a dramatisation of the life of two particular honeybees from birth to death, using macro-imaging technology and CGI.

Produced over two years, it provides a look at life in the beehive from the points of view of an elderly ‘winter bee’ and younger ‘spring bee.’

A Bee’s Diary will launch on Love Nature’s platforms internationally this year, followed by premieres on Sky Nature in the UK and Smithsonian Channel in the US.

The film is directed, produced and written by Dennis Wells, with Berndt Wilting exec producing. Also exec producing is James Manfull for Love Nature and Tria Thalman and David Royle for Smithsonian Channel.

Blue Ant International oversees licensing for A Bee’s Diary in markets outside Germany and Canada, and will debut the film at next month’s virtual Mipcom.
