Lionsgate links with KP Anderson

US studio Lionsgate TV has signed an overall deal with writer and producer KP Anderson.

The Emmy-winning comic will create original series and formats via his Pygmy Wolf Productions banner. For the last 11 years, he has been writer and exec producer on E!’s pop culture series The Soup.

The agreement will give Lionsgate exclusive rights to alternative and scripted TV content produced by Pygmy Wolf.

It’s the latest chapter in Lionsgate’s attempts to bolster its unscripted operations following its recent purchase of an estimated US$200m stake in Craig Piligian’s Pilgrim Studios.

The studio’s current portfolio of unscripted series includes Monica the Medium on Freeform, RocketJump: The Show on Hulu, Christina Milian Turned Up on E! and Hellevator on GSN, along with the forthcoming series Douglas Family Gold on Oxygen and Kicking & Screaming on Fox.
