Lionsgate hires UK Warner exec for sales

The UK arm of US content giant Lionsgate has appointed a Warner Bros executive to a senior sales distribution role.

Nicky Wood has joined Lionsgate UK as senior VP and head of EMEA sales and will steer the company’s international distribution operations across a range of digital and linear platforms.

Previously, Wood spent 15 years at Warner Bros in their London international distribution division, most recently serving as senior VP of sales for Russia, Central and Eastern Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Prior to Warner Bros, she held acquisition positions at UK broadcasters including Sky, BBC and Channel 4, and Sweden’s Modern Times Group, where she was responsible for securing broadcast rights for channels across Scandinavia and Central and Eastern Europe, as well as working on channel launches.

“With Nicky’s expertise in media sales and distribution, she will help expand the reach of our content across Europe, the Middle East and Africa,” said Lionsgate’s president of worldwide television and digital distribution, Jim Packer.

“She has a strong understanding of the diverse needs of the many content platforms with whom we partner, and she adds great value to our deep and experienced team.”
