Robert Kirkman is behind Five Year

A new drama format from The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman is being adapted for the Latin American market.

Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment prodco has partnered with local outfit 360 Powwow to work on Lat Am versions of forthcoming pre-apocalyptic series Five Year, which focuses on a family living under the threat of a deadly meteor heading towards Earth.

Skybound has already partnered with Viki in South Korea to develop a version for that territory, which is now being distributed internationally.

The company will be at the Natpe market in Miami next week to pitch the Lat Am version to South American broadcasters.

Sean Furst, Skybound’s co-president of TV and film, will meet 360 Powwow CEO Daniel Gutman at Natpe to discuss development of the series.

Gutman said: “In this golden age of scripted television, to partner with the incredibly talented Skybound team and help bring to our territories their new original format after the amazing success of The Walking Dead is a privilege.”
