Field Day was initially established by Sally Angel and will form part of Keo Films as it seeks to develop programming for TV, theatrical release and digital platforms.

Angel most recently produced director Andre Singer’s feature doc Night Will Fall, which chronicles the making of a lost film about the Allied liberation of Nazi concentration camps in 1945. Channel 4 in the UK and HBO in the US showed the doc on linear television.

She has also worked on BBC Arts programme strands, devising and launching series including One Foot in the Past, House Detectives and TV Heroes.

Her roles at the UK pubcaster included commercial channels manager for BBC production, channel development executive for BBC broadcast and commissioning editor for BBC Choice.

Keo is best known for its series fronted by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, including River Cottage and Fish Fight.

Keo CEO Debbie Manners said: “We are thrilled to have Sally onboard in this exciting new joint venture. Her experience and knowledge of arts and history programming is complementary to our current portfolio and will be invaluable as we develop the company further. This marks a very positive step change in our business.”

Appointments to Field Day’s executive team will be announced shortly.
