Karga Seven puts on Suits in Turkey

The original Suits

The Turkish division of Red Arrow-owned US prodco Karga Seven Pictures has picked up the format rights to USA Network drama Suits for a local remake.

Istanbul-based Karga Seven Pictures Turkey has bought the remake rights to the long-running drama from the formats division of distributor NBCUniversal International.

Turkey will be the next country to remake the drama following Japan, where the series launched this week on Fuji TV, and South Korea, where it topped the ratings throughout the season on KBS.

The plot follows the fast-paced world of a corporate law firm that takes a risk by hiring a brilliant but unmotivated college dropout to its staff.

Created by Aaron Korsh and produced by Universal Cable Productions and Hypnotic Films & Television for USA Network, Suits is now in its eighth season in the US.

The announcement was made by Ömer Özgüner, who arrived as CEO of Karga Seven’s Turkish branch last week.

Karga Seven launched its Turkish outfit last year after producing in Turkey for a number of years, making successful feature films such as Takim: Mahalle Askina! (The Team). Recent productions include City of Secrets for Fox.
