Job Description:

Job: Journalist (Welsh Language Programmes, ITV Cymru Wales)
Contract: 9 Month Fixed Term

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate journalist to join the current affairs production team, working on a brand new digital commission, creating mid-form documentaries for S4C’s Hansh brand.  You will have extensive knowledge of current affairs in Wales and the World,  an abundance of original story ideas and the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.  You will have a strong understanding of digital audiences and platforms, a creative flair in your storytelling and a clear ambition to create cutting edge content for a young, Welsh audience.

The ability to speak and write in Welsh to a high standard is essential.

Job Requirements:

Role Criteria
  • Strong understanding of digital audiences and platforms
  • Creative thinker with experience of creating journalistic content for digital or broadcast
  • The ability to generate, research, plan and develop original ideas for a younger audience
  • Excellent current affairs knowledge of Welsh, UK and International affairs
  • The ability to work to deadlines is crucial and a proven track record of working under pressure is essential
  • Thorough working knowledge of Compliance and Legal issues
  • Strong Welsh language skills (accurate spelling and grammar essential)
  • The ability to be self motivated but also to work well in a team environment
  • Experience of editing and/or filming desirable, or ability to show willingness to learn using new technologies
  • Good understanding of diversity and inclusion
