Responsibilities
Role Summary:
The Director of Creative is responsible for finding and developing projects and new talent for feature development and  the day- to- day development and production of Focus’ annual state of films and literary acquisitions.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • The day to day development of the company’s slate of feature films
  • Find and develop projects and new talent for feature development
  • Work closely with writers, producers, directors and third party production entities
  • Provide support to executives on projects prepping, in production, and post
  • Create and maintain lists, including internal tracking and development lists, available talent, new talent, and competitive information
  • Create and develop new ideas: cover film, publishing, news, the internet and other media to generate ideas for film, and contribute on an on-going basis to the development process

Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years experience within the film industry in a studio, agency, or film production company
  • Knowledge of story structure
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

Desired Characteristics
  • College degree
  • Strong development history and talent for identifying unique materials
  • Passion for films
  • Proactive
  • Excellent presentation skills
