C21Media, the leading information provider for the global content business, is looking for a deputy head of event programming to work across its award-winning conferences and newly-launched content industry training division.

You are a self-motivated, positive, proactive team player with a comprehensive understanding of the international content business, outstanding creative and communication skills, and an ability to work under pressure as a key member of the team.

C21Media is the market-leading B2B information provider to the international content business, combining a portfolio of publishing brands with an events business and powerful online screenings marketplace.

The deputy head of event programming will play a key role in creating the agenda for C21Media events including Content London, Content LA, and other associated events.

They will also assist in the development of C21’s newly-launched Content Academy training division, contentacademy.tv.

The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the international television business, together with strong relationships within the sector and may suit a journalist, researcher or conference programmer.

Working closely with the head of event programming, the production and editorial teams you will be a flexible team player who is self-sufficient, with a can-do attitude.

Key tasks include:
  • Supporting the head of event programming to develop the vision and strategy for the content of events and training
  • Researching international industry trends and developments for upcoming projects
  • Liaising with senior industry executives and representatives to develop conference sessions and identify speakers
  • Produce conference sessions and wider event content strands
  • Managing content and social media around C21 events
  • Keeping up to date and accurate records
  • Representing C21 in the international content business
  • Working closely with the production team and wider C21 teams as required

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate:
  • An intelligent, self-motivated, positive, proactive team player with good knowledge of the international content business and outstanding creative and communication skills, who can multitask under pressure while remaining calm
  • Have a minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in the international content business
  • Have a journalistic background or ability to identify and understand what makes a good story
  • Have strong contacts across the international content business
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to take initiative and self-manage
  • Able to contribute new ideas and problem solve
