Jelly Jamm spreads in Canada

A pair of Canadian children’s broadcasters has acquired Spanish-produced musical preschool series Jelly Jamm.

Télé-Québec and TVOntario-owned TVOKids have become the latest channels to acquire the 52×11’ show and the first in North America.

This follows previous deals producer Vodka Capital has struck with the likes of Turner Broadcasting (for Cartoonito channels across EMEA and Cartoon Network in Turkey and Arabia), Discovery Kids (Latin America), Channel 5’s Milkshake (UK) and Televisa (Mexico).

The 3D CGI series, aimed at four- to six-year-olds, follows five wacky friends who live on the planet that gave music to the universe. “As a cultural and educational public broadcaster, Télé-Québec is always looking for original series that convey positive values,” said the network’s director of children’s programming Lucie Léger.
