Based in LA, Michael Azzolino will oversee development and current operations for ITV Studios’ scripted US programming in the newly created role.

Azzolino was previously senior VP of Jerry Bruckheimer Television, where he was responsible for all aspects of new project development, pilots and current series production.

He will now report to ITV Studios America president Philippe Maigret, who was appointed to run ITV America’s US-based scripted operation last July.

“Michael will bring with him deep relationships in the creative community and his considerable experience in the development and production of hit television programming,” said Maigret.

While at Jerry Bruckheimer, Azzolino worked with the company’s production partners including Warner Bros Television and CBS Television Studios, as well as broadcast, cable and streaming networks.

Azzolino said he was “excited” to join ITV Studios America, adding: “The studio is building an incredible environment for creatives to take advantage of the many opportunities available in our ever-evolving marketplace.”

The exec’s credits include Lucifer, the CSI franchise, Hostages and forthcoming CBS drama Training Day.

His appointment is the latest in a string of hires at ITV’s US operation in recent months.

undressedLast December, ITV confirmed Leftfield Entertainment founder and CEO Brent Montgomery was taking over as CEO of ITV America, formerly ITV Studios US Group, following C21’s earlier exclusive report.

In March this year, TNT and TBS exec David Eilenberg was named president of ITV America’s newly created unscripted ITV Entertainment label.
