ITV, Zodiak bag Boyle special

UK commercial network ITV has ordered a new one-hour special on Britain’s Got Talent winner Susan Boyle.

There’s Something About Susan has been produced by London’s Firecracker Films for ITV1, with Zodiak Rights, the international distribution arm of Zodiak Media, shopping the show globally.

The special follows Boyle, who won the UK version of Syco Entertainment and FremantleMedia’s reality format in 2009, as she embarks on her first series of live solo concerts in the UK and the US.

ITV will air the show on December 12 at 21.00, having previously broadcast one-off doc Susan Boyle: An Unlikely Superstar in 2011. That show attracted 5.8 million viewers and has since been sold by Zodiak Rights to 88 countries.
