Italian rights to Calimero awarded

A Milan licensing house will handle Italian rights to the upcoming reboot of European animated children’s series Calimero.

Paris toon house Alphanim has sub-licensed TeamWorks to look after the territory. This comes after pubcaster Rai was announced as the local broadcast home for Calimero, which is being coproduced by Alphanim and Studio Campedelli.

Alphanim has global distribution rights under an agreement with brand owner Calidra. In France, the show will air on commercial channel TF1.

The original Calimero launched in 1963, and the new version will air next year on its 50th anniversary.
