Imagen takes on Wounded Birds, Cennet

Wounded Birds was made for Kanal D

Mexican broadcaster Imagen has acquired Turkish dramas Wounded Birds and Cennet from Scandinavian distributor Eccho Rights.

Produced by Stellar Yapim for Kanal D in Turkey, Wounded Birds (201×54’) follows a young woman as she raises her adopted brother until she finds out the boy is the son of an influential industrialist and was kidnapped in a power struggle over the family empire.

Produced for ATV in Turkey, Cennet (115×45’) tells the story of a girl who is abandoned as a baby and, after graduating, is unexpectedly reunited with her birth mother.

“Broadcasters in Latin America have been taking notice of the success that Wounded Birds has enjoyed in the region, and we are seeing an increase in buyer interest in the market for this long-running romantic series,” said Lisa Wegscheider, sales and acquisitions executive for Lat Am and Iberia at Eccho Rights.

Handan Özkubat, director of Turkish drama at Eccho Rights, added: “Cennet continues to be one of the most popular titles in our catalogue, already sold to a huge number of broadcasters across Europe and Asia, and now making waves across Latin America as well.”
