Hulu takes Arte collection

MIPCOM: US video-on-demand platform Hulu has bolstered its factual slate by signing an output deal with Franco-German broadcaster Arte for its documentary films.

The agreement, with Arte’s distribution arm Arte Sales, will make a package of feature docs available on Hulu and subscription VoD Hulu Plus from December.

The titles in the launch package will be revealed in the coming weeks. The deal was negotiated by Jesse Janson, director of acquisitions and digital media at US distributor Janson Media and Audrey Kamga of Arte Sales.

Kamga said: “Being available and accessible on the US digital market is part of our 2014 strategy. We really trust the viewers will appreciate our high-quality line-up.”
