HBO pilots Spanish-language comedy

US premium cablenet HBO has ordered a pilot for a Spanish-language comedy set in Mexico and co-written by Saturday Night Live’s Fred Armisen.

Mexico City: Only Good Things Happen is a half-hour show that revolves around friends who are obsessed with horror movies and zombie make-up. Armisen, Ana Fabrega and fellow SNL comic Julio Torres have co-written the show and will also star.

The show is being produced by Broadway Video, the prodco from SNL alum Lorne Michaels, and its Latino-focused studio Más Mejor, which was launched with Telemundo.
