WarnerMedia-owned US streamer HBO Max has ordered a six-episode comedy sketch series starring comedian and actor Michael Che.

Each episode of as-yet-untitled series will follow a theme or incident such as police brutality, unemployment or falling in love and uses sketches to illustrate what it feels like to experience these from a black vantage point.

The series is being produced by Universal TV and Broadway Video, with Che, Lorne Michaels and Erin Doyle exec producing.

“Michael brings a distinct comedic perspective as he illustrates the uncomfortable truths across multiple topics,” said Suzanna Makkos, executive VP of original comedy and animation at HBO Max. “We look forward to sharing his unique vision and necessary point of view with our audiences.”
