Hat Trick International restructures sales

London-based independent distributor Hat Trick International (HTI) is restructuring its sales team to oversee distribution of formats, finished tape and drama from Hat Trick Productions and third-party producers.

Jonathan South

Jonathan South, senior sales executive, will handle all sales to North and South America, Spain and Portugal. South joined the company last year from US-based Electus, before which he was senior VP for Europe at Televisa.

He also previously led EMEA distribution for A+E Networks and held senior acquisition roles in Sweden and Spain.

South has recently closed deals for a number of HTI’s programmes, including selling George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces to Discovery/HGTV in North America and TVE Spain, Psychopath with Piers Morgan to Oxygen USA and Jed Mercurio’s new drama series Bloodlands to AMC Networks-owned streamer Acorn TV in North America.

Other recent sales in Lat Am include Flack to MTV and Cristiano Ronaldo Meets Piers Morgan to Hola TV – deals that were secured by senior sales exec Elfyn Morris, who is now handling sales to Scandinavia.

Morris previously looked after CEE territories, which have been taken over by sales and marketing exec James Mill.

Former Gaumont International VP of distribution Hana Zidek has now added the role of senior sales exec for France alongside her acquisitions executive position, while Cassandra Toller has been promoted to senior sales exec and is handling sales to UK and Germany.

Another recent addition to the HTI team is Alison Balch, who joined the team in July as materials manager. Balch previously worked at Kew Media across titles such as Line of Duty and Leaving Neverland.
