Glass podcast looks at isolation dating

US unscripted prodco Glass Entertainment Group is launching a podcast that delves into dating, love and isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Andrea Gunning

Dating Diaries: Quarantine Confessions, which premieres next Wednesday on iTunes and Spotify, addresses how millennials and Generation Z’s are continuing to pursue romantic relationships while abiding by, and sometimes ignoring, the self-isolation rules.

Each week, hosts Andrea Gunning and Ben Fetterman will interview people who are experiencing the pandemic in different ways, such as Kate, who breaks quarantine protocol to see the guy she previously started dating, and Lauren, whose dating prospects have been reduced to video chatting.

Gunning and Fetterman, who are Glass’s exec in charge of production and director of business development and finance respectively, exec produced Glass’s recent podcast Confronting: OJ Simpson.

“A lifetime with one person might be too much but weeks without anyone is unbearable,” said Nancy Glass, CEO of Glass.

“That’s one of the lessons we’ve learned on Dating Diaries. The idea of dating may seem unimportant right now, but for single people who live alone, this crisis brings an added layer of frustration. They crave attention, connection and sex. On this podcast, we talk to singles who are trying to figure out how to find happiness or at least a hook-up during quarantine. The resulting podcast is funny, shocking and deeply moving.”
