Genius Brands finds start of Rainbow Rangers

Rainbow Rangers launches on Nick Jr in November

US children’s producer and distributor Genius Brands International has secured US$4.5m of investment for its original preschool property Rainbow Rangers (52×11’).

The series is set to launch on Nickelodeon’s Nick Jr in November, followed by an extensive retail roll-out led by toy maker Mattel next spring.

The backing is led by financier Robert Wolf of 32 Ventures and the oversubscribed funding generated strong participation from both existing as well as new investors, according to the company.

32 Ventures is the private investment arm of 32 Advisors, a boutique advisory firm serving public and private companies and financial institutions founded by Wolf, who is the former chairman and CEO of UBS Americas.

CGI-animated series Rainbow Rangers follows the rescue adventures of seven nine-year-old girls who live on the other side of the rainbow and serve as Earth’s first responders to protect the planet.
