France, Spain employ Armoza’s Teacher

Journalist and writer Roberto Saviano in Rai2’s Il Supplente

Production companies in France and Spain have picked up local rights to The Surprise Teacher from Israel’s Armoza Formats.

Banijay Productions France and Atresmedia-owned Verte in Spain will now work on their own versions of the factual entertainment format.

The first local remake of the show started airing this week on Italian pubcaster Rai2. Titled Il Supplente, the show is produced by local indie Palomar Productions.

Each episode of the 60-minute format sees a new celebrity take over a class of high-school students for a masterclass reflecting their passions and experiences.
