Flame’s fungi doc sprouts in Japan, Poland

Foxtel picked up Food Safari Water from Kismet Productions

Broadcasters including NHK in Japan and Telewizja Polska are among those to have acquired programming from Australia’s Flame Distribution, includig a 4K doc about the world of fungi.

The two, along with NRK in Norway and Tallinna TV, have picked up science documentary The Kingdom: How Fungi Made Our World from Smith & Nasht and Real to Reel Productions.

Elsewhere, Sky New Zealand, which recently launched new channel Sky Movies Vintage to focus on movies from the 1940s to the 1970s, has acquired six films from the Adelphi classic films collection. Titles include The Great Game, Is Your Honeymoon Really Necessary?, Miss Tulip Stays the Night, My Wife’s Lodger, Penny Points and Tell-Tale Heart.

Maori Television acquired two seasons of reality series Family Rules

Fellow Kiwi broadcaster Maori Television bought two seasons of reality series Family Rules, produced by Metamorflix, while Australian pay TV platform Foxtel has licensed a raft of history titles including The Search for the USS Lagarto, from Moshman Productions; Wildbear Entertainment’s WWII: The Price of Empire; and Cromwell’s Head, from The Firewater Partnership.

Foxtel has also added Food Safari, French Food Safari and Food Safari Water, all from Kismet Productions.

Meanwhile, RTL Netherlands acquired BBC crime series The Sheriffs Are Coming, Czech commercial channel FTV Prima picked up a package including BBC series Grand Tours of Scotland’s Lochs and Spanish pubcaster RTVE added travel series My Greek Odyssey, from The Rusty Cage.
