Euro prodcos face Armoza’s Choice

MIPCOM: Production outfits in Germany, Italy and Sweden have picked up remake rights to a cross-media primetime gameshow from Israel’s Armoza Formats.

The People’s Choice asks viewers to provide answers to various dilemmas – such as whether they’d rather go a week without showering or without their smartphone – via a digital platform, which is being developed by Israeli media firm Screenz.

Contestants must then guess which option received the most votes to win a cash prize, while viewers can also secure prizes.

It has been optioned by Germany’s Tresor TV Produktions, Italy’s Sony-owned Toro and Sweden’s Elk Productions.

The format, which will be presented to international buyers here for Mipcom in Cannes, is a result of a co-development partnership between Armoza and France’s TF1.

Armoza has similar agreements with broadcasters including JSBC in China, Viasat in Hungary and TVA in Canada.
