Entertainment chief to exit ProSiebenSat.1

One of the co-CEOs of ProSiebenSat.1’s entertainment arm is to leave the German broadcaster this summer for personal reasons.

Michaela Tod

Michaela Tod took the role alongside Wolfgang Link in February last year but will leave at the end of July.

The broadcaster said Tod had driven the growth of the digital and smart advertising business and accelerated the expansion of the TV business during her time in the role.

Prior to joining ProSiebenSat.1, Tod spent more than 14 years with UK technology group Dyson, most recently leading its Greater China region as president.

Max Conze, CEO of ProSiebenSat.1 Media, said: “Wolfgang and Michaela have set up a future-ready entertainment pillar and efficiently positioned it so that we can now respond to the needs of our customers and viewers in a much more agile way.

“The management of the entertainment pillar and the broad range of topics by two co-CEOs has proven itself. I very much regret Michaela’s decision.”

Tod added: “My decision was anything but easy because I am leaving a very exciting company and a great team. But unfortunately there are private reasons that move me to do so. I’m still here until summer and we still have a lot to do.”

ProSiebenSat.1 operates commercial channels in Germany including Sat.1, ProSieben, Kabel Eins, Sixx, Sat.1 Gold, ProSieben Maxx and Kabel Eins Doku.
