Empire, Millennium in Undisputed TV move

Undisputed will begin filming in Bulgaria next March

UK-based Empire Film Distribution is working with US film company Millennium Media on a TV spin-off from martial arts film franchise Undisputed.

Empire Film will sell the worldwide rights to the TV version of the show, which will be directed by Isaac Florentine, who also worked on the movies. The New York-set franchise explores the world of underground fight tournaments and a sprawling network of international crime.

The TV series, also titled Undisputed, will be executive produced by NuBoyana Studios’ Yariv Lerner (Hellboy, Rambo) alongside series developers Rouslan Ovtcharoff (The Expendables) and Benjamin Jackendoff. Broadcaster/streamer details have not been revealed.

Empire’s Sean O’Kelly (Gun Shy) and Marc Bikindou (Breaking Point) are producing, with shooting starting next March in Bulgaria.

Undisputed premiered in 2002 and has spawned a raft of remakes, including the Booyka: Undisputed franchise.

Empire founder O’Kelly said: “As one of the most original and talented directors working today, Isaac Florentine will be sure to deliver the same riveting, high-octane action experience that Undisputed fans around the world have come to love and expect.”
