Electus’s raft sails to RTL

RTL in the Netherlands has picked up the format rights to Electus International series The Raft and is preparing a local version.

Zodiak will produce the six-episode first season, which is due to premiere on RTL5 on March 17.

The show, which originally aired on National Geographic in the US last summer, follows the crews of a pair of two-man rafts as they fight the harsh conditions of the open ocean and attempt to survive for longer than the other team.

The series was originally executive produced by Chris Grant and Corie Henson of Electus, along with Brian Catalina, Kristina Wood and Fred Pichel of Brian Catalina Entertainment.
