CBS All Access to conduct Interrogation

US streaming service CBS All Access has made a straight-to-series order for a true-crime drama in which the viewer plays detective.

Interrogation is based on a real case lasting 30 years in which a young man was charged and convicted of viciously murdering his mother.

Each of the 10 episodes will be structured around interviews drawn from police case files. The first nine episodes will be watchable in any order with the conclusive final part to be released on a later date.

The series will be produced by CBS Television Studios and Red Arrow Studios-owned Fabrik Entertainment and will be a CBS All Access original series, joining the likes of Star Trek: Discovery, The Good Fight and Strange Angel on the platform.

Co-creators Anders Weidemann (30 Degrees In February) and John Makiewicz (House of Cards, Bosch) will exec produce alongside Fabrik’s Henrik Bastin and Melissa Aouate.

Julie McNamara, executive VP, original content at CBS All Access, said: “It’s a series that could only be executed with the technical capabilities of a streaming service, and we look forward to bringing its innovative approach to our CBS All Access subscribers.”

“This non-linear approach to storytelling is closer to how real detectives work, picking their own path through the evidence in a search for the truth,” Weidemann added.
