C5 orders Tourette’s doc from BBCS

Tourette’s Teacher star Natalie Davidson with some of her pupils.

UK broadcaster Channel 5, owned by ViacomCBS, has commissioned a documentary about a teacher with Tourette’s syndrome from BBC Studios.

Tourette’s Teacher (1×60′) tells the story of secondary school teacher Natalie Davidson, who is determined to prove her condition is no barrier to success in her job. This is despite her lessons being interrupted by uncontrollable swearing and the sort of comments you wouldn’t expect to hear in a classroom.

Coronation Street actress Kym March narrates the doc, which is expected to premiere on Channel 5 this spring. Rob Unsworth exec produces for BBC Studios, with Max Jourdan producing and directing.
