BBC2 goes to restaurants, Yorkshire Dales

Extraordinary Places to Eat: The Insider’s Guide

BBC2 in the UK has ordered two unscripted series, with one focusing on the best places to eat and the other about the Yorkshire Dales.

Extraordinary Places to Eat: The Insider’s Guide (4×60′, working title) is from UK-based Outline Productions and follows a celebrated Maitre d’ joining UK chefs to explore their favourite places to eat around Europe.

The executive producers are Katy Fryer, Laura Mansfield and Helen Veale, with Michael Ratcliffe, Tara Jang and Ed St Giles attached as producers and directors.

It was commissioned by BBC2 controller Patrick Holland and David Brindley, head of popular factual and factual entertainment. DRG is distributing the format and finished show internationally.

Meanwhile, The Dales (3×30′) is from BBC Yorkshire and sees explorer and adventurer Paul Rose visiting some of the most popular spots in the Yorkshire Dales.

Each episode will see Rose exploring a different location in one of the north of England’s most spectacular spots, with filming in Wharfedale, Wensleydale and Swaledale.

It will be produced and directed by Paul Greenan and executive produced by Nicola Addyman, both from BBC Yorkshire. It will air on BBC2 next spring.
