All-female prodco unveils first project

Nutritiously Nicola! is based on a stage show

Fledgling London-based all-female prodco Double Yay Productions has revealed its first project following a successful crowdfunding campaign.

Double Yay raised more than £16,000 (US$22,600) on Kickstarter for seven-part comedy series Nutritiously Nicola!.

The company, formed late last year, is run by Caroline Amer, producer and business director; Natalie Bray, producer and creative director; and Rebecca Tanwen Morgan, producer and operations director.

Nutritiously Nicola! has been developed from an original stage show performed by Bray and will now become a full-length pilot.

Double Yay Productions conceives, develops and produces female-led scripted comedy for linear and digital television platforms.

Last spring, the company was offered an option for Nutritiously Nicola! but chose to self-fund the project to maintain creative control.

The show will launch in spring 2018 featuring guest stars from across British comedy and drama. Of the £16,000 budget, 75% was raised in the first 24 hours of the Kickstarter campaign’s launch.
