Electric Church is set in the world of TV Christian preaching and tells the story behind the rise of the ‘Christian right’ In the US.

It follows televangelists Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell as their paths collided to change the face of US politics in the 1980s.

The series was co-created by Sayles (The Alienist, Lone Star, Matewan, Eight Men Out) and Marc-Edouard Leon, with Sayles scripting the show.

John Hillcoat (Black Mirror, The Road, Lawless, The Proposition) is directing and also exec producing, alongside Sayles, AGC Television president Lourdes Diaz, AGC head of film Greg Shapiro and AGC chairman and CEO Stuart Ford.
