A+E Networks hires GM for Italy

A+E Networks is adding a general manager for Italy to its European team, overseeing its channels there and partnership with pay TV broadcaster Sky Italia.

Patricio Teubal will join the US broadcast and production business’s European arm in December and report to Dean Possenniskie, MD of A+E Networks EMEA.

In the new role he will oversee three channel brands – History, Crime + Investigation and Blaze – as well as the partnership with Sky Italia. He will also look for new opportunities in the territory.

The appointment follows the departure of previous GM Sherin Salvetti, who is retiring.

Teubal is a veteran of the TV rights and sales business. Prior to joining A+E he was MD of media and sports advisory company Blackant, which was working with Italian pubcaster Rai, among others.

He was also founder of Cucu Sports & Entertainment, an online company based in London and Italy that runs an influencer marketing platform for athletes and celebrities.

He held a variety of roles at Italian broadcast giant Mediaset from 2002 to 2012 and had a stint as CEO of Serie A football club Palermo. Earlier in his career he was a commercial producer for Endemol Argentina.
