US preschool cablenet Disney Junior has ordered a third season of its latest reworking of the Peter Pan story.
Jake and the Never Land Pirates, which is based on the classic children’s novel but follows a crew of kid pirates who work to outsmart Captain Hook, will return again, bringing the total number of episodes to 100.
The Disney Television Animation-produced show launched in February last year on Disney Channel’s Disney Junior programming block and will play a major role when Disney Junior spins off as its own channel on March 23.
The Mouse House claims the show is US cable TV’s top rated show among boys 2-5 and Disney Channel’s top rated preschool series ever across a number of demographics.
