Based loosely on the 1970s TV series of the same name and a 2003 movie version on which Ryan also worked, S.W.A.T. focuses on the elite US law enforcement agency’s LA unit, setting the narrative within the context of recent tensions that prompted the creation of the Black Lives Matter and Blue Lives Matter movements.
The show, which stars Criminal Minds’ Shemar Moore, comes from Sony Pictures Television and will be coproduced with CBS TV Studios for a Thursday 22.00 slot this fall.
