Zodiak hires BBCWW scripted exec

Zodiak Rights has hired BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) exec Caroline Torrance to head up its international scripted division.

Torrance will now oversee the distributor’s scripted sales team in Paris and work with in-house and external producers to develop international drama and comedy projects.

The exec has previously held similar roles at companies such as Endemol, Granada, and, most recently, BBCWW, where she was director of scripted, content and production.

Recent drama and comedies developed via Zodiak imprints include Millennium, Wallander, Being Human, The Inbetweeners, Badults, Solsidan and St Tropez.

Zodiak’s scripted production companies also include Yellow Bird and Jarowski in Stockholm, Touchpaper and Bwark in London and Marathon and Tele Images in Paris.

Zodiak recently hired another executive from BBCWW to replace its sales VP for Spain, Italy and Latin America.

These appointments come after Zodiak Media chose international broadcast exec Marc-Antoine d’Halluin to succeed its outgoing CEO David Frank.
