Zig Zag appoints US lead

UK indie Zig Zag Productions has appointed an experienced executive producer to lead the company’s operations in the US.

Ronnie Krensel joins Zig Zag USA as executive VP and will be responsible for spearheading the growth of the US business.

During Krensel’s career, he has led comedy, adventure and science shows for TruTV, Discovery, YouTube Red, the BBC, ABC, A&E, History, TLC, Animal Planet, Travel, Food HGTV and PBS.

He has also created projects as a development exec for Food, ESPN, Cooking, Bravo UK, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

Based in New York, Krensel will report to Zig Zag Productions CEO Danny Fenton in London.

Krensel is taking on the role previously held by Matt Gould, who passed away in August. Gould worked at Zig Zag between 2010 and 2016, before going part-time from 2017 to 2019.

Zig Zag’s previous US projects include Fox reality series I Wanna Marry Harry. At Mipcom in October, C21 revealed the company is working on a feature doc and three-part factual series based on previously unheard recordings of Nelson Mandela talking about his life.
