ZDF to tell Story of Europe at MipTV

The Story of Europe

ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) has unveiled a slate of programming across its brands for MipTV, including ZDFE.unscripted’s historical docuseries The Story of Europe.

The commercial arm of German pubcaster ZDF will also offer fellow docs History of Weapons (10×50’), showing the evolution of weapons technology over the years, and Africa River Wild (7×50’), which takes viewers to the rivers and jungles of Africa.

Highlights from ZDFE.unscripted’s entertainment line-up include 55-minute format Cash or Trash, a daily show that uncovers the price of the audience’s treasures and hidden heirlooms, and 90-minute quizshow You’ll Never Get It.

ZDFE.drama, meanwhile, is introducing The Crimson Rivers (8×50’/4×100’), an adaptation of the bestselling book that was previously made into a movie starring Jean Reno.

Following the success of three-part family drama series Ku’damm 56, follow-up Ku’damm 59 (3×90’) rejoins the Schöllack family at the Galant dance academy in Berlin.

ZDFE.drama will also present Australian drama-comedy web series Other People’s Problems, which was originally created for the ABC’s iview VoD platform.

Turning to live action for kids, ZDFE.junior’s The Bureau of Magical Things (20×25’) follows the adventures of teenage girl Kyra, who is magically transformed when caught in a clash between an elf and a fairy.

Finally, animated series Lassie (52×22’) is currently in production, while premium tween ballet series Find Me in Paris (52×26’) features a time-traveling ballerina.
