ZDF, DRG aim to make gold with Alchimie

French digital distribution company Alchimie has signed deals with four international content producers, including Germany’s ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE), to help them expand their digital reach.

Along with the commercial arm of pubcaster ZDF, Alchimie has struck agreements with UK-Australian sports and entertainment company Inverleigh Media, London-based distributor DRG and Australian producer and distributor Creative Media Productions to place content on its digital platforms.

Users of Alchimie’s subscription-based video platform Watch It! and Mööds, an app that allows users to watch ‘slow TV’ programming tailored to specific moods on their smart TV, will now have access to thousands of hours of content covering cooking, travel, culture, sports, eSports and slow TV.

DRG has sold 200 hours of slow TV –which refers to live ‘marathon’ coverage of an ordinary event in its full length –produced by Norwegian pubcaster NRK for Alchimie’s Watch It!.

It is hoped that through these platforms, Alchimie will help the companies broaden their programmes’ digital reach and increase revenue.
