ZDF captures Gil’s Moment

German broadcaster ZDF has commissioned a local version of Gil Formats’ factual entertainment programme Capturing the Moment for its digital channel ZDFneo.

The commission is a first for Tel Aviv-based Gil Productions’ newly formed distribution arm and will see the programme premiere on ZDFneo on September 25 under the title Zurück zum Augenblick.

Capturing The Moment sees individuals reveal their personal experiences and learning around issues such as love, family, careers and sex. The first episode deals with the reunification of Germany, concentrating on personal stories related to the fall of the Berlin Wall 25 years ago.

Local rights for the show were picked up by fledgling German outfit Seapoint Productions in January. Seapoint executive producer Verena Schueren will lead production on the new project, having previously worked for Endemol Deutschland across a range of formats including The Brain (Deutschlands Superhirn).

Capturing the Moment is one of a number of formats already available from Gil Formats, including observational factual entertainment format Life On Duty, comic gameshow Are You For Real?, Basic Instinct and The Life of Maya Dagan.
