ZDF adopts Waffle the Wonderdog

Waffle the Wonderdog’s second season is in production

Broadcasters including ZDF in Germany have acquired seasons one and two of Waffle the Wonderdog from distributor DHX Media.

The live-action preschool series will air on ZDF as well as its children’s channel KiKa in Germany, along with VRT for Ketnet in Belgium, NPO Zappelin in the Netherlands and Canal+ for Piwi+ in France.

Both seasons have also been picked up by Minimax in Central and Eastern Europe, NRK in Norway and DR in Denmark.

Season one, meanwhile, has been picked up by SVT in Sweden, RTP in Portugal, Hop! In Israel, CJ ENM in South Korea, ABC in Australia and TVOKids in Canada.

The show is produced by UK-based Darrall Macqueen and distributed internationally by DHX Media. The second season is currently in production.

It follows a newly blended family who find a talking puppy hiding in their house.

Previously, DHX Media and Darrall Macqueen collaborated on the Teletubbies reboot, while DHX Media also handles distribution for Darrall Macqueen’s original series Topsy & Tim.
