Yoko takes off with Jetpack

Broadcasters in Canada, Portugal, India and Sri Lanka have acquired Russian-Spanish preschool series Yoko from Jetpack Distribution in the UK.

Yoko premiered in Russia on CTC and Karousel

BBC Knowledge in Canada, Canal Panda in Portugal and Sun TV in India and Sri Lanka have taken exclusive pay TV rights to the 52×12′ animated series.

The series premiered in Russia on national channels CTC and Karousel at the end of 2016, while the show’s Russian coproducer Wizart has also sold the show to local educational channel O!, VTV in Belarus and ETV in Estonia.

The show is coproduced by Wizart with Spanish animation houses Somuga and Dibultoon, as well as fellow Spanish broadcaster TVE, which recently launched it on its kids’ channel Clan.

It will also air on another Spanish network, ETB, which airs in the Basque region, this month.

The plot follows the adventures of three children who love to play outside, where they are joined by a magical forest creature that takes their ordinary games and turns them into extraordinary adventures.
