YFE to launch Slovak kids channel

MIPJUNIOR: German media group Your Family Entertainment (YFE) will launch a localised kids channel in Slovakia next year.

Slovakian TV platform Joj will begin broadcasting RiK at the beginning of 2015, which YFE says will be the world’s first Slovak-language family entertainment channel.

The channel will air European animation classics such as Fix & Foxi alongside live-action series like Enid Blyton and Swiss Family Robinson.

Earlier this year YFE hired former Disney Channels Worldwide and KidsCo chief Paul Robinson to lead the global roll-out of its kids’ TV channels, which also include RiC and Yourfamily, targeting Eastern Europe.

Marcel Grega, CEO of Joj Group, said: “We hope RiK will become a good companion and friend not only for children but also for their parents, who can count on quality and responsible kid-friendly programming.”
