Xilam hires Gaumont alum for Asia Pacific

French animation studio Xilam has appointed a former Gaumont Animation executive to oversee its sales activities in Asia Pacific.

Céline Carenco

Céline Carenco has joined the company as senior VP of media distribution for Asia Pacific and will sell the company’s library of kids’ and family content in the region.

Carenco spent 15 years at Gaumont Animation, formerly known as Alphanim, where she was responsible for developing the company’s international distribution activities in Asia, EMEA and Canada.

Most recently, Carenco was the international sales and acquisitions director at Paris-based Awol Animation.

Xilam employs more than 400 people, who are based at its four studios in Paris, Lyon, Angoulême and Hô-Chi-Minh Ville in Vietnam.

The firm last year appointed Morgann Favennec to lead its sales activities as executive VP, global sales development.

Founded in 1995 by Marc du Pontavice, the Paris-based company owns a catalogue of more than 2,000 animated episodes of shows such as Oggy & the Cockroaches, Zig & Sharko and The Daltons.
