Xilam finds Lucy Lost in Morpurgo book

Lucy Lost is based on Michael Morpurgo’s book Listen to the Moon

French animation studio Xilam Animation is adapting mystery novel Listen to the Moon into a kids’ series titled Lucy Lost.

Development is underway on a 10×26’ adaptation of the First World War-set book from British children’s laureate Michael Morpurgo.

Jean-Christophe Dessaint (Le Jour des Corneilles) is on board to direct the show which will be fully animated in CGI with a final 2D rendering.

Set at the beginning of the war in the Isles of Scilly, Lucy Lost follows a fisherman and his teenage son who find an injured, mute 11-year-old girl.

Morpurgo is the author of more than 100 children’s books, many of which have been adapted for screen, most notably War Horse which was turned into a film directed by Steven Spielberg in 2011.
