X Factor UK lands in Lat Am

Broadcasters in Latin America and the Caribbean have picked up shows from FremantleMedia International (FMI) including the UK version of hit singing competition The X Factor.

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Networks in Latin America (pan-regional), CNC3 in Trinidad and SCCN in Surinam, have all acquired the most recent 10th season of the show ahead of next week’s LA Screenings.

Meanwhile, SPT Networks in Latin America and CNC3 in Trinidad have licensed the forthcoming ninth season of variety show America’s Got Talent.

The Got Talent format has also been renewed by Chilean broadcaster Chilevision for a fifth season, while Ecuavisa in Ecuador has signed up for a third.

In Colombia, RCN is launching its first season of the music show format Idols, co-owned by FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment, this spring. A local version will also be created for Channel 13 in Paraguay, FMI has said.

In addition, Chilean broadcaster Canal 13 has taken the fifth season of talent show My Name Is.

Televisa Mexico, pan-regional Mundo Fox and Telerama in Ecuador have all secured rights to 100 Latinos, the US Hispanic version of gameshow Family Feud.

Moreover, documentary series Dark Matters: Twisted But True has been sold to Discovery Networks Latin America, along with a renewal of The Da Vinci Shroud.

Heading into the LA Screenings, FMI will be showcasing dramas Wentworth (FremantleMedia Australia), Dicte (Miso Film), Jamaica Inn (Origin Pictures) and Schapelle (FremantleMedia Australia).

In the entertainment genre, FMI will be highlighting competition series The Great Christmas Light Fight and Britain’s Got Talent.

Other shows include lifestyle series Real Girl’s Kitchen and factual programmes Catching Hell, The Art Of, Ten Deadliest Snakes With Nigel Marven, Talk To The Animals and Bigfoot Files. Rounding out the FMI portfolio is Park Bench, a new comedy fronted by Steve Buscemi.
