Wowow rejigs management team

Japanese premium pay broadcaster Wowow has added executives from Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) Television and a Fuji Television Network subsidiary to its senior management team.

Hideki Tashiro joins the company from TBS Television and will oversee programming and production capacities at Wowow.

Masahiko Mizuguchi, meanwhile, has arrived from Pony Canyon, a subsidiary of Fuji Television Network, and will oversee the company’s business and entertainment development division.

Both executives have been elected to Wowow’s board of directors and come as part of a wider management rejig, which has also seen an addition made at Wowow’s engineering and ICT division.

Meanwhile, two newly elected Wowow board members have been promoted from within. They are Junichi Onoue, who oversees investor relations, finance and accounting and strategy integration, and Hitoshi Yamamoto, who oversees human resources and general affairs.

Re-elected board members include Wowow president Akira Tanaka, who has held the top role at Wowow for the last four years; Noriaki Kuromizu, who holds the position of executive VP; and Ichiro Yamazaki, the senior MD overseeing Wowow’s marketing division.
